Support Your Stress Response with Adapt & Thrive™*

This recipe includes many wonderful adaptogens. Adaptogens are herbs, roots, and other plant substances that are commonly used to help our body adapt to stress—a cornerstone in our Ashwagandha and Super Mushroom functional powders.*

How do they help exactly? Experts believe adaptogens interact with the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, initiating the body’s stress response.* They play a significant role in keeping our body in homeostasis (balanced).* When consumed regularly, adaptogens help our body recover after a stressful situation and can help maintain stress resilience regularly.* This leads us to two main adaptogens and mushrooms in this energy bar recipe: Ashwagandha and Rhodiola.

Let’s dive into why these two herbs thrive at addressing our modern-day stressors:

Ashwagandha: This famous adaptogen has been revered in Ayurveda for thousands of years and helps to balance energy and stress levels in our body, resulting in a greater ability to remain calm and resilient among daily life stressors.*

“Ashwa” is Sanskrit for “horse”, and the smell of its root is “like a horse,” giving it its nickname “energy of a horse.” Ashwagandha can help us stay resilient no matter what life throws our way.  What’s even better? Our Regenerative Organic Certified® Ashwagandha is grown on our farm here in Costa Rica for optimal potency.

Rhodiola: This adaptogen powerhouse with beautiful yellow flowers supports the health of our organs, stress response, and immune system to help us feel our best.* It’s grown sustainably in semi-arctic terrain, which speaks to its resilience and strength – and its traditional use spans centuries.

But where the real magic happens is when you combine these adaptogens with Super Mushrooms, like Cordyceps, creating even more synergy.

“Ashwagandha exists as an adaptogen for stress resilience, and mushrooms exist to support a healthy immune response,” says Ric. “When you bring them together, it’s an excellent complementary approach.”
